Dirk C. Sieckmann is a German and European patent attorney. He advises and represents world-leading international corporations as well as innovative start-ups. In his work with these diverse clients, Dirk has achieved the grant of several hundred patents with a particular focus on computer implemented inventions. From 1995 to 1997 Dirk Sieckmann was development engineer and project leader (EU-Project „PrOMInent”) at the Fraunhofer Institute FhG-IMS II in Dresden, the IMMS in Ilmenau and at the IMEC in Louvain, Belgium, in the fields of multiprocessor technology, signal processing, VLSI and System-on-a-Chip-Design. His successes in defending clients against patent infringement claims are based on his vast expertise in invalidating patents in nullity and opposition proceedings especially in the fields of telecommunications, hearing aids and mechanics. Dirk supports and advises his clients in areas such as IP strategy planning, management of patent and trademark portfolios, law of employee´s inventions, due diligence and valuation of IP rights.
